I have the most irritating noise that is under my dash. It buzzes when I’m parked and just sitting with the truck idling and sometimes when I drive. If I push the brake it stops and let go it’ll do it again
I had an 03 2wd gasser that did that from time to time, sounded like a relay to me. Never did the work to find out what the problem was, it was occasional so I just turned up the stereo when it happened. Ended up selling the truck and let the new owner deal with it.
My point is that while it is still annoying it possibly isn’t related to the diesel. My best suggestion now that I know a little more is to hook up to the OBD and see if it’s throwing any codes.
Has been happening for a few months now. Really since I owned the truck. Sounds like if you take the fuse panel off to the right sounds like it’s buzzing.
When you can hear the buzzing feel the hydroboost to see if it is vibrating and feel the pressure line from pump to hydroboost. Since you said it goes away when you apply the brakes then returns when let off the spool valve might not be completely returning to position 1.

Ha, Ha. I have had the same thing since about 2012. It was constant (except when the turn signals were on or the brake peddle was pushed) and drove me nuts and I complained here on the forum. No one seemed to have a definitive answer however, SpringerPop said he would find it even if he had to take the dash off! What a guy. So I drove over to his house one morning and the last turn before I got there it stopped!!!. Now it's been intermittant ever since, buzzing maybe for an hour or two, every few months and then quitting. I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the turn signal flasher, but because I have horrible vertigo and limited funds I don't want to get under the dash and start looking and the issue remains. If you find it, I'd sure like to know. I also have a '05 Ford Expedition, and I am starting to get a similar sound when the left turn signal is on, just the opposit of the truck. I can stop the buzz by jiggling the turn signal lever a little. Something similar going out?
