adding a Puddle Light

Would like to add these Rock lights to the bottom of my mirrors. My mirrors do have a defrost function and they are a manual fold in and out.

Is there a power wire that I can tap into in the mirror section so the puddle lights come on when you unlock the doors or open the doors? I know there's power for the blinker and turn signal. But I dont want the puddle light on all the time.

Do they stick on? Wonder if 4 of those across the rear receiver would work as additional backup lights?

See if you have and then meter the Violet-Green wire going to the mirror. Easiest location to access the harness is pulling the cap off of the inside door trim just opposite of the mirror. Black-Yellow is ground.

Just took the cover off and here is what I see. The top left pin is the running light. The top right pin is the defrost.
None of the other pins react to blinkers, 4 way flashers or anything. They seem "dead". I probed them with door open, closed, truck on and off and got nothing. Only ones for sure are the running lights and defrost.

Looks like you're missing the PIN that would support the Puddle Light.

I guess using this harness for a puddle light is out of the question then?

If the pin you are showing is for the turn signal, how come I didn't get any reaction from it when I probed it? Only 2 pins were working for me.

Sorry, I can't tell you why not. I'm only going off of schematic in Service Manual. Test again? Maybe you had bad meter connection?

New meter.... Heres the results. If your schematic is right about that particular pin being a puddle light, I am getting 5.5v constant. The pin you show for turn signal is dead. Doesn't matter if doors open, locked, engine on or off.
Im baffled

Since the mirror doesn't support a puddle light any recommendations on which fuse I can tap into that will trigger the lights when the doors lock/ unlock? I was looking at interior fuse #3.
