To let all my helpers know, I bought a prebent fuel line from Inline Tube following Matt's advice. I am getting the steel line for $45. It comes with the cloth loom. They had a 20% sale so that brought it to $36 plus $8.50 shipping plus PA sales tax. Much cheaper than Mid Fifty or Carpenter.

Thanks for the help so far. There will be other questions I'm sure.

Ah - sorry about that. I thought Abe had sent me a pic of a red 223 a few months ago, but went back & looked & pics came from Matt J's '54. My bad!

The only catch I found is the tank's plumbing was for a newer engine. I had to reduce the pipe size to work with the original style fuel pump intake.

I got my tank today as I mentioned in another thread. They offered a $30 discount. I'm not sure what I'll do yet.

But, Ken, my tank did NOT come with an outlet fitting, just a threaded hole. So on yours you could not use the old one? Did your tank come with a fitting? And you had to buy a reducer?

Abe, I believe my truck uses a 1/4" fuel line, and the tank was tapped for 3/8".

My tank looks like it is a little different. It isn't a true reproduction. Mine doesn't have that bend in the flange, and doesn't have a drain plug. It also had the 90 degree elbow fitting, and an adapter plate for the new-style sending unit.

Yours looks like a true reproduction. You might be okay.

OK, thanks. I bought the 5/16" prebent line. I bought ¼" copper/nickel tube for my fuel pump to carb line. I am hoping my old fitting fits the new tank.
