7.3 Stalling issues
We have a 2002 F-250 with a 7.3 diesel engine. Going down the road it stalls intermittently, sometimes 30-40 times in a half hr period and other times it may go 2 weeks with no issues. The engine does not completely die, just goes to an idle until you let up on the pedal and re-apply power again. If you apply light pressure it will work, any other type of pressure and the truck goes back to idle. This can go on for 10 minutes or more then it may run fine, or start all over again. Has been in the shop on and off for 5 months, the local Ford dealer doesn't want to deal with it anymore. The truck has a lot of miles on it but uses very little oil and still has very good power-when running correctly. Cant find an answer anywhere on line with a similar problem.
