7.3 IDI stalling
My '92 F250 7.3 IDI has suddenly developed an annoying stalling problem. I always store it during the winter months and just got it back out a couple of weeks ago. I've been using it around the farm and it ran great for about the first week, but now it stalls whenever I decelerate. If I slowly back off the accelerator it will idle smoothly around 700 RPM and runs great otherwise...no missing, no smoke and normal power. But if I blip the throttle slightly it will stall immediately upon deceleration instead of returning to idle. It starts again easily and if I slowly back off the accelerator it will stabilize and idle, but when I'm driving it it will often stall when shifting gears or slowing down to a stop. I've had it happen when the fast idle solenoid is on during warmup as well. Any thoughts?

Remove the fuel filter,fill it with ATF and reinstall.Start the engine (may stall,require lots of cranking to start again,to re-prime) and let the engine smooth out.Once it smooths,wait a few more seconds and shut it off.Wait a couple hours and restart the truck.Now she will no longer stall on deceleration.You can even give it a few quick snaps to try and force it to stall,only to find the problem is completely cured.
