A bit embarrassed to ask this one. Is there a way to see the outside temp on the drivers screen behind wheel? When using carplay I can't figure out how to see the outside temp. I also can't seem to find any type of home button when using carplay to get back to setting etc without killing the music. So far I find the electronics not very user intuitive. Coming from a RAM, I thought U Connect was bad, I think the Sync is worse so far. I have read the manual, watched videos. I'm an IT guy by trade, surprised I can't figure out how to see the outside temp on any screen but the home screen on stereo. Thx for any help....
when on carplay, on the lower left is a cluster of small squares. touch this then choose the Ford sync app. That takes you back to the standard ford screens. To get back to carplay, there will be an icon on the lower part of the screen.
I use the Edge CTS2 for the temp. It reads the external thermometer and since my STX has the smaller screen radio, I lost the outside temp when I put the Alpine in the dash. CarPlay should have a weather app / readout IMO.
Has anyone noticed that when using Waze on Car Play the speed it shows on the waze screen is much faster than your actual speed? If you unplug the phone the Waze then shows the correct speed. Strange

If you do a search you will find a thread that talks about this problem. The fix is an update to Ford Sync.
Not sure about Apple Car Play, but Android Auto now has an setting option for the temperature to appear on the AA screen. Seems to work well in the week or so since I toggled the setting on.
