Tonight I get a message on my landline answering machine out of the blue. Some guy says his pop had light blue 54 and now that he's retired he wants to buy a 54. He asked if my 54 is for sale.
I call him back and I told him up front the history of my 54, bought from Grandpa in 1977. I told him I'm not interested in selling. It turns out he is from Lebanon County not far from where I grew up. So, long story short, I told him I would help him look for a truck. He would take any slant cab, 53-56, and any color. He's willing to pay more for one that is already fixed up. He'd take something that needs body work and paint if it's a driver. I told him to check eBay, Craigslist, and Facebook Market place.
So if you have one for sale or know of one, let me know.
About the title, Enablers, Inc.... I am already helping two other guys look for a truck. One family I know does landscaping, mowing, and snow removal. The owner/dad said last year they were watching the Hallmark Channel Christmas shows and saw this red 53 F100. He thought they got to have a red Ford truck to use in advertising their Christmas tree sales. I've sent them several links to trucks for sale but so far nothing they like.
There's another guy whose sons I coached in soccer. He has a farmette. He and his wife converted the barn into an event venue. He said he'd like to have an old Ford truck, any color to use around the farm and to use for photo ops. I've sent him several pictures and links of trucks ranging from F100 pickups to F350 flatbeds. One was a Meadow Green 53 F350 that I really liked but he showed no interest..... I wish he would have bought it and I could have lived vicariously with tht Meadow Green truck!
Here's a very original '54, in Fremont/Union City. 223. 14k OBO and it's been for sale awhile (over 30 days), so I bet you could shave some $ off that price. This is the one I would buy if I was in the market. When is the last time you saw original factory paint on bed wood?!? https://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/cto...018577024.html Fremont is only 20 minutes from me, so let me know if you want somebody to check it out!
Beautiful 1954 Ford F-100 1/2 ton, short bed, pickup. Truck is basically untouched. Was a garage find. The only thing that's been changed is the radiator. Still have the original. All the brakes, and wheel cylinders have been recently replaced. New battery. This is a 6 cylinder, 6 volt, positive ground truck. No body cancer, with just surface rust. Truck has a clean title and is registered. It runs and drives fine. You can't find a better rebuild start, that's if you want to, or leave it as it is. Check the pictures. By the way. The bed has the original wood in it. Has no holes but a little warpage on the wood but not to bad. Sold as is. $14,000 OBO. This truck is also on Facebook, but the price is incorrect. Again it's $14,000 or best offer. Don't waste my time with low ball offers or just plain wasting my time. If your interested that's fine but don't give me any B/S. Tire kickers stay away.
There was a really sweet looking meadow green 1953 F100 that sold recently on BAT that was owned by a mechanic. It had some interesting upgrades on it. Maybe your the Barn couple is looking for an older looking truck. 48-50 or even earlier style?
Wow! That is awesome looking. I'll send him the link. That is the best preserved Deluxe cab perforated headliner I've ever seen!
I agree that truck is a beautiful original example. Priced accordingly, but I think $11-12k would be a good deal, depending on how well it runs and stops. Hope it works out for your new friend.

there is an older man near me that has a real nice 51 F4. His wife died, he had a stroke and is now in a home. I'm trying to talk to him about selling it.

You know it's a nice truck if it's not a 56 and Kevin would like to have it!
I sent the man the link last night about the blue truck but I haven't heard back from him.
Man I love that '54. I think the '55 needs a sister, but that'd be a tough one to sneak by the wife, lol. I don't think I've ever seen an original that nice. I'm allowed to dream, I guess ….
