I just got a new 03 f250 7.3L and want to get some more power out of it. I was wondering if any one can help me chose a chip or programer? also do you have to get a chip to chang the trans pressure ot do they take car of that ? I am new to diesel performance and i was wondering if adding smoke stacks with straight exhaust ( no cats or mufflers) will increase performance. I own a landscaping company and tow about 5-7 thousand pounds every day. exhause brake is it worth it ? thanks for any info
First you'll want to get some gauges (pyro, boost, and trans temp if you have an auto).
Then upgrade the intake and the exhaust.....AFE or Tymar intake...and a turbo back 4" exhaust, or do the stacks.
After those are done then get a chip.
There are a lot of chips available. You'll most likely want to get a flip chip....have a lower setting for towing, maybe one for "economy"......and one with a high hp program. Some chips do have better trans programming than others to help your trans handle the added power.
