Good morning everyone,
My dad just bought a new 2019 F250 CCSB. We were looking under the hood and noticed that it is painted white The truck is silver It also appears that there isn't any clearcoat under the hood Is that normal? He's replacing a 2000 F150 he bought new and it has high quality paint under the hood.
My ruby red truck is really dark, almost burgundy color under hood where clear coat is absent. It's normal. Not sure of the exact reasons, but that's the way it is.
My ingot silver hood is silver on top and bottom, no clear on bottom though. Sounds like possibly his truck had a new used hood installed and painted. Does it hail where the truck came from, replacing hoods from hail damage is Pretty common, do the inner fender wells and aprons look white also? Mine are silver as well.
Everything under the hood appears to be white. Inner fenders, etc. It very rarely hails here, so I don't think it would have been from that.
I'll try to see if I can get a picture
I couldn't say 100% since silver is very close to white, but it looked white to both of us.
Try placing a white sheet of paper against the inside of the hood. This should make it easier to determine if color is actually white or something else.

My last 2018 F150 in Ingot was the same as yours. Relax. It’s actually a poor coat under the hood, fenders, etc. Feel it. It’s likely to feel rough, too.
