Year, mileage, and experience thread
Being a somewhat intelligent person I did not argue.
15,000 miles, dealer leveled when new. Added FOX stabilizer at 1500 miles and fuel wheels and 35" tires at 6,000 miles.
Problems: pass side rear view mirror replaced under warranty due to stripped power fold and LED DRL recall performed. Noted upper oil pan leak (seeping) but holding on replacement until it gets worse.
Overall experience: outstanding comfort, love the technology, and of course the look. Mpg with stock tires averaged 17 mpg local and best of 21 mpg on a trip. With wheel and tire change, local average is 15 mpg and best trip mpg is 18 mpg. Parking is sometimes a challenge but 360 cameras help. Highest complimented truck I've ever owned and I've owned a lot of them.
Tire pressure gauge @ 5K
4X4 wiring harness replaced @ 12K
Rotors @ 21K
Sunroof slide (2 times) Never use it but seems to be a popular item to fix
Thats it for now, waiting for my new 2020 to arrive
Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
2018 F350 Limited. 62,000km.
Warranty repairs:
-Bunch of crazy warning lights on instrument cluster, replaced 7pin trailer wire harness and greased connectors @ 5000km
-Failed reductant pump heater @ 20,000km
-Wrench light on, failed brake position sensor @ 35,000km
First Ford and I really like how comfortable this truck is. I use it for work and spend lots of time in it. So far I am very happy with this purchase.
1. fog lights cracked w/o impact, replaced for free
2. Parking brake actuating rod recall
3. Fan clutch replaced under warrenty (squealing), starting to squeal again
4. Heater block cord recall deal
5. Water pump failure replaced under warrenty
6. DW, replaced several ft. end parts
7. DW returned 6k later, replaced all same parts again plus one additional part and replaced SS with fox 2.0 instead of oem. All covered except fox SS.
8. I've had some long crank issues intermittently on start up as well but havent noticed it for a couple months now so that's wierd.
Issues 1-5 dont really bother me. The DW issue has been a pain in the a** though. Probably would have traded truck after 2nd DW replacement parts but my dealer does acknowledge the issue and seems to work with me in a caring way and I love most aspects of the truck otherwise.
OK, so other than the above:
2018 F350 6.2L SCLB 4x4. 15,000 miles
1) Backup camera working intermittently - Dealer found bad pin in a connector
2) 6.2L engine noise (squeel/grind/knock sound at warm idle) - Dealer told me it was the alternator and normal for trucks with dual batteries (
)3) Engine block heater cord recall - Done
4) Both batteries leaking & corroding the hold-downs - Dealer cleaned them.
5) Fan clutch squeals in cold weather - Haven't said anything to dealer...I know they are just going to say "cannot replicate" until colder weather.
6) Center jumpseat/console squeaks while driving
7) Something in the passenger area squeaks pretty bad now. It may be the door striker. I haven't investigated it yet.
8) Not a fan of the cheap, delicate, fragile aluminum body....
- Frozen door lock - drivers side rear lock - not repaired yet, waiting for other doors to fail
- Rubber moulding, rear door above window was bubbling - replaced
- battery leaking - replaced metal clamp would not replace battery
- recalls fixed - block heater cord, park actuator in transmission
- bump steer regularly - felt 10 second DW on only one occasion after going over bridge connector. Went back to normal after taking foot off gas. will have them check before warranty up
- rear tailgate camera foggy and replaced. Now, front grill camera is partially foggy and will take it in for replacement before warranty.
Even with all these issues I am happy so far. My 2008 F150 5.4 required an exhaust manifold right after the warranty period and an undected short in a wire under the door step and carpet caused 2 months worth of stalling issues. This Super Duty is far less of a problem so far.
