Has anyone got an uncured power steering hose recall? I received this a couple days ago on my Ford app. I wonder how big of job this is for the dealership? Does mean the hoses can leak or fail?
I received a letter in the mail saying my truck needed to be checked by the dealer and they would only need one half to a full day to look at it. I'll look at it myself this weekend and determine if anything is out of order
Theoretically, it is possible the hose could fail if it can't hold the pressure. Nobody on this forum has complained about a failed power steering in recent memory so I'm not too concerned at this time.

I got this field action notice (not a recall) along with the recall for the axle.
I brought the truck in for an oil change in addition to the axle and steering hose inspection, knowing the service department had serious backlog. The parts for these two items are not stocked at this service department; instead they are ordered AS-NEEDED so there is additional delay waiting for parts. The agreement I made with the service adviser is that they would do the inspection first. If corrective action was required, they would order the part and I would reschedule to bring the truck back in at a later time. Fortunately, both axle and steering hoses passed inspection. The adviser has indicated both items could be addressed in a day.
I went in this last week with the "Customer Satisfaction Program 19N06" = Door latch freezing. I was told this is NOT a recall. They will do NOTHING unless you have had problems with the door latches freezing. I asked if they would do the preventative measures. They said not until you have had your door latch freeze. So I asked if I go up to the mountains to go snowmobiling and I can't get into my truck on account of frozen latches = THEN you would do something ? AFTER I somehow thaw my door latches to get inside !
I had them check my VIN # for other recalls.
Rear axle recall - not for my truck.
Block heater cord recall - not for my truck.
Daytime headlight recall - Yes in effect for my truck.
Uncured power steering hoses recall - Yes in effect for my truck.
Unintentional tailgate opening issue - Did not ask about this as I had forgotten.
Steering stabilizer recall - Just found out about this one.
I've already put dielectric grease on all the connections below the tailgate.
Usually you purchase a NEW truck for newer nicer features and a bit of reliability comfort from the older truck. From my memory the 2008 only had a radiator recall.

Yes I just had the power steering hose Field Service Action done and they did find that my hose was one that needed to be replaced. There is a number on the hose that they can use to determine if it is one that has the problem and needs to be replaced. My dealer didn't have a hose in stock so I opted to leave it at the dealer until they got the hose in and replaced it. Took it in Wednesday and they had it done Friday. Also had the Daylight Running Light recall taken care of at the same time.
