Help with iddentifying steering linkage
my 1977 F150 seems to have a different steering linkage set up from anything listed in parts or workshop books, as in it has individual tie rod ends at each end of the linkage, and this doesn't match anything I can find, can someone identify what this set up is from?
Any help appreciated.
Cheers,
Shane

Thanks for the drawing, it matches everything I can find, and I believe that is what it should have but not what is fitted to my truck!!

I appreciate everyone's help.
One question, Rockauto list RWD which looks like the right part, will it fit a 4x4? The 4x4 one they list looks different to mine.
The RWD designation to us means 2-wheel drive, so if I'm not mistaken the lengths of the rods and perhaps even the sizes of the rod ends would be different.
Would be a shock to me if Ford used the same parts across more than two vehicles!
The easiest swap should in theory be the standard "T" style '73 to '79 style. The '76 and '77 "Y" link was also a different beast on the Early Broncos too, and those did not simply swap over to different year Broncos. But the other F150 version just might.
Might be best if someone with a standard T-style setup measured between the knuckles (steering arms) to see if it's the same distance. The tapered holes could be enlarged if needed, or made smaller with shims.
You'd also need the standard pitman arm for the other years. Preferrably a dropped arm like this (https://www.wildhorses4x4.com/produc...ion_Parts_78yr) because it looks like you have lift springs?
Then once the T-style and new pitman arm are installed, you can modify your trackbar angle as needed to make it parallel to the new draglink. Using either an off-the-shelf trackbar drop bracket, or a custom one to suit.
