Truck is a 78 f150 I had a bulb go out on the passger side front. the drives side still worked. I replace the bulb now none of them work. The hazards flash every were but passanger rear. I replaced that bulb to. Running lights work on all sides. Replaced the flasher and that did not fix it. When I try to use the signals I can somtimes hear a faint click from the flasher. Like it wants to work but I get nothing.
I would double check your bulb and make sure it's installed correctly and it is an 1157, also clean the contacts in the socket. Just went thru all this myself!
Update Bulbs are 1157 I had fuse blown put a new one in and all the signals work now. except for the passanger rear checked the ground cleaned all conections. I know the bulb works becouse it comes on when I hit the brakes. or running lights are on. but dose not work when I use the turn signal or flashers.
Go to Fordification.com or someplace and scare up a wiring diagram, so you know what color wire does what. This helps.
Then split the truck in half, so to speak. Find out or start troubleshooting where it works, and work back towards the tail and isolate fault through a process of elimination.
The big junction block pin connectors that go through the firewall for example is a good place to split it. In fact, those could be the problem. They get all scuzzed up with green corrosion. Anyway clean all those pins & receptacles up, and use a test light bulb connected to ground while flipping the turn signal stalk to see if the fault lays upstream or downstream from that point - either in the steering column & switch somewhere, or, whether under the bed somewhere all the way out yonder.
