The dealer put new tires on my truck and ever since I got it back the front right TPMS sensor read 12-14 PSI low. I have done the TPMS relearn and also lowered the tire down to 30 PSI and aired it back up. Neither made a difference, does anyone know of anything to try before I go to through the hassle of getting it back in at the dealer?
Did you take it for a drive after the relearn/air up? Mine often doesn't update what the dash reads until it's run around for a bit.
If so, and it's still low, does it remain constantly low? Like, if you lower it to 45, does it read 30, or does it read correctly when low, and it's more like it just maxes out at 47? If it's more like it maxes out, then maybe the dealer installed the wrong TPMS, and you've got one from a passenger tire that's only calibrated for their normally 35 psi values.
Might be. Might also be a bit of debris interfering with the internals of the pressure switch. Either way, sounds like it's gotta go back to the dealer, as they'll have to pop the tire off the rim to get to the sensor.
When swapping out my summer for winter tires last year, it took my tpms about 80km to get them to start reading right again. I thought I would have to do a relearn but patience prevailed.
Yeah, I am taking to the dealer on the 16th. Was just hoping to avoid the headache if possible. Yeah, mine has been like this for about 2 months and has spent time plenty of time at 80+ MPH and a couple thousand miles. The weird thing about it is before I did the TPMS relearn it the pressures were the same but the TPMS warning light never came on. Ever since the relearn it is reading low and now it is warning me when I start the truck that the tire is low and the TPMS light is on.
I am the original owner and haven't made any adjustments to the TPMS system with Forscan. It has worked great for years, I think likely some sort of debris from the tire change is messing with the sensor.

If you feel that it might be debris, what about removing the valve core and letting it quickly exhaust itself. Then maybe a blast or two of line pressure air back in before replacing the core and refilling the tire.
Yeah, I did that but unfortunately the sensor hole on TPMS sensors isn't very close to where the valve stem adds/removes air so it didn't have any effect.
Interesting, I had always thought that the TPMS sensor was directly on the back of the valve stem (obviously on the inside of the wheel). Is this not the case on the Fords?
With that said, either way you tried it and it didn't work.
