So im building a 460 for my pickup im getting a new block out of a later model efi truck was told those were roller. But my big question is i have a set of 70 dove 429 heads already with the skrew in studs and high rise intake runners. Would it be beneficial to keep my stock heads or go with the 429. I know they have a smaller cc and bigger intake runners but the valves are the same size I believe
Your older heads will probably need hardened exhaust seats. I think that hardened seats started with the D3 heads. I'm not sure what you plan to do with your truck, but the stock EFI motor with a cam, headers, and that carb adapter thing I posted above would make a nice combo.
