Block heather

Hello folks! Couple days ago, the temperature drop to the 20's here in Atlanta, then I decide to plug the block heather for the first time on my 17' F450... why not
At that time I realize that the guys at Gwinnett place Ford ruined the plug so instead replacing the wiring I come up with the same sistem I used on my 00' F450 years ago.
What you think about it?

Was the block heater recall done? I know it was practice to disable the cords until the replacement became available.

Yes, they work on the front of my truck and one of those times they said they did it...

Where did you get the part for the socket? I hate having the floppy cord in the front.

look up shore power plug on amazon. There are a few different really nice ones. They are commonly used in marine applications for shore power.

Block heater cable recall #1, was to inspect and replace the cable if needed. #2 was to disable the cable. #3 was to replace the cable with the new design.

Seems OP's truck never had recall #3 preformed.
