Have any of you folks verify if the height of a 2020 SRW ((250 or 350) is in fact lower than the 2017-2019s. If so, have any of you noticed how they did it (thinner blocks, longer shackles, different springs...). Thanks in advance.
I think the final answer is still out on this one.... If you search some, you'll see threads that have F250's that look identical in height as well as F350's. I'm waiting till I see some at the local dealer as I'd like to know the same, Front coils, Rear blocks etc... I want to level my F350 some but still want it to fit in the garage.
There is a thread already. Poster said no change per their measurements but I am betting there is differences in spring options that will change the heights.
According to Ford's own published numbers, there is about a one inch lower height distance vs previous model year from the tailgate to ground on both F250 and F350, affecting regular cab 4x4, Super Cab SWB 4x4, Super Cab LWB 4x4, and Crew Cab LWB 4x4. The 4x2 models are actually half an inch taller now. F450 shows as being unchanged, as does the popular 250/350 Crew Cab SWB 4x4. These are assumed to be base model changes. Not sure what effect various options will have.
The overall vehicle height numbers are mostly unchanged partly because of the addition of the antennas on the roof.
As far as real-world measurements and knowing what components changed... TBD...
Found a 2020 at a nearby dealer. Comparison to my truck isn't perfect, but it will do.
My truck is a 2017 F250 XLT CCSB 6.2 with plow prep and 275/70-18's.
Dealer had a 2020 F250 STX RCLB 6.2 with plow prep and 275/70-18's.
Both trucks measured 42" ground to fender lip in the front.
My '17 measures 44" and the 2020 measured 43.5" ground to fender lip in the rear.
My rear spacer blocks measure 3.25" tall, and the 2020's measured 2" tall (both blocks measured at the back).
I don't know why the spacer blocks are 1.25" different in height, but the trucks are only measuring .5" different in height. The only thing I can think of is that I've overloaded my truck on several occasions, and may have taken some of the arc out of my rear springs. Wish I had more clear cut information to share.
If you're looking at the height specs posted on a Ford website, and your maximum height is a make/break decsion maker, be forewarned to take an actual measurement of the truck. My '17 F250 measured 1-1/2" taller than the published specs.
Local dealer had a 2020 STX. it has what I would call 2 inch blocks. Actually they are tapered from 1 7/8 to 2 1/16 (as I suspected). This explains why several have reported a driveline vibration when installing the 2016 rear blocks (they were not tapered).

FWIW, when I removed my tapered 2017 blocks and installed 2016 straight blocks, my tailshaft and pinion shaft ended up within 1/2° of each other ... no vibration at all.
I posted a few days ago. Dealer had a 2020 SC 6.2 and I measured against my 17 CC 6.7 with same height tires. Wheel well to ground measurements were exactly the same front and rear. I also measured to the top of the hitch and that measurement was also exactly the same. If I get a chance I will stop and measure to the bed bottom.
