I have read a bunch of threads most all of them with no resolution so... My idle surges. Nothing major, maybe 50 to at the most 100 rpm mostly when its up to temp. CPS, UVCH, IPR, ICP, all changed with genuine Ford parts, EBPV has been deleted efuel at about 65psi, The CPS I got was a really dark blue almost black. Yesterday I changed the ICP pigtail just to rule it out and put in a new fuel bowl harness just for the connector, IPR wiring and heater wiring for my efuel. I know without a scanner this will most likely be impossible to troubleshoot but just wondering if anyone has solved this issue. Could the EBP sensor have anything to do with it, EOT sensor? Next purchase is Autoenginuity.
Sure it is not your A/C compressor cycling on and off?
I'm pretty sure I had the heat/ac set to off and it was still doing the same thing but I will check and make sure. One good thing is I fixed the behind the dash hiss by repairing the white vacuum line with a new piece spliced in.That was nice to hear that go away.
Low hanging fruit for a variation in idle is aeration of the oil. Anti-foaming is a requirement for oil in these engines. Old oil loses this property. An oil change is the fix. Frequent oil changes are good policy. Use diesel oil, Motorcraft, Rotella, Delo, Delvac, SuperTech, they're all good. Motorcraft 1995 filters are $10 at Walmart.
Read about oil for HEUI engines. The HPOP quickly shreds the oil. Time takes away the anti-foaming properties of the oil, even without running the engine.

Mine does not idle perfect either, but my engine is sick. Also, mine is OBD2 compliant. I have heard the OBD2 ready PCMs idle even odder, these are the 1994.5-1995.5 trucks. I have a 10/95 sold as a 1996 MY new.

I'm using Petro Canada Duron-HP 15w-40 very fresh oil under 50 miles.
The MY of mine is 1996 but also manufactured 10/95. I have less than 50 miles on these new injectors it could be possible there is still air being purged I suppose.

Mine runs great but it's not smooth or quiet or user friendly. If it was a bull it would buck and snort and probably kick you.
IDM died and used a replacement and it idles much better now
Does anyone have a good schematic for the IDM injector portion of the OBS 7.3? I like electronics and have repaired dozens of Tektronix oscilloscopes I would like to take a look at the injector/IDM waveforms. Swamps has a page showing ideal waveforms. https://swampsmotorsports.com/IDM/Injector Waveforms.htm Also if anyone had a dead to them IDM for sale I would like to buy it. I have a hot air station and a decent microscope for SMD work. I would be interested in working on repairing these.
PM your address, you can have my old IDM to play with.
The caps over time will get weak.
I have a scope but not much time these days
Thank you. I sent you a PM. I'm not sure I can even fix these but I would like to at least have a look. I see a lot of used ones on the bay but I'm sure they will be suffering the same issues that caused the issue we are trying to solve. From what I have seen in research I have done there are just a few areas on the board that fails (unless water has intruded) and like you said I'm sure any electrolytic cap could use refreshing.
