Has anyone had the Alarm System short out the whole electric system - 1st it went off intermittent - messed with windows - wipers etc...but still would start.
If I disconnect the alarm system I CANNOT START MY TRUCK - the dealer wants to come get it and I really don't have the cash for this. It's a 1994 e150 and been nothing but trouble lately. This is major and I need any advise.
Is it a factory alarm or an aftermarket? If it's an aftermarket alarm system, cut all the power wires to the alarm module, or unplug it. There should be a connector with 2 heavy gauge wires (8 or 10 gauge about 5-7 mm thick) make a jumper wire from some 8 or 10 gauge wire and jump the two heavy wires. This is how I disabled the alarm in my van. I can try to get pictures.
If it is a factory alarm there is a 26 pin connector on the anti-theft alarm control module. To bypass the starter interlock splice wire # 12 (from switch) and 24 (to starter relay) which are white with pink tracer. Wire # 13 is also white with pink tracer and is for the alarm warning lamp.
hey man - thank you - if this works the tow truck that's on it's way this morning can be cancelled and would save a ton of money that the dealer is going to charge for this....
