I have a 2004 6.0 powerstroke. It’s got roughly 172000 miles. It’s been bullet proofed and all the works. Truck runs perfectly fine except my heat come and goes. One day it’s hot the next day it cold. It doesn’t get hotter when I mash the throttle it just stays cold. The coolant level is perfect and all my fluids have been changed here recently. I just replaced the vacuum pump not to long ago and it works fine and the grey vacuum line is pushed on that little nipple where it supposed to be. I’m stumped. I’ve been trying to figure it out but I have no clue about the HVAC system in this truck. If anyone has any recommendations on what to do it would be greatly appreciated.
Yes the truck reaches temps fine and the thermostat was replaced about two months ago. It doesn’t matter if I turn the **** to hot or cold it just blows AC.
I had a similar problem with my 99 / 6.8.
i watched a couple of videos on blend door actuator replacement , removed the motor for the blend door , it was working properly .
Used a 1/4 " short extention to operate the door , made sure it was not being held open by a foreign object , it was not .
Bought a heater core , replaced it , and all is well .
