1964 F100 Starter Squawk

1964 F100 Starter Squawk
I have a 1964 F100, 223 I6. About every 2 or 3 starts the starter will squawk.
Truck does start when it works...rarely does it squawk more than two starts in a row(but it has happened).
I have taken it out and taken it to a shop. They said it ran fine, just lubricate and put it back in. I did see some metal shavings around the hole where the bendix/shaft sit in.
