Yesterday, I found and buy a tailgate trim in a decent shape (missing the "D" letter).
Well I want to mount in my tailgate but have two plastic reteiners broken, Do you know the name of that plastic pices and a place where can I buy a pair.
You can see those plastic pins where welded (melted) by a machine into the plastic emblem. No way are you going to find those. When I am in that situation I always use a blob of silicone caulk in the spot where the pin is missing. Let it dry and you should be good to go.
If you are afraid of that, I would find some round plastic rod, possibly cut up a plastic coat hanger if it's close, and then epoxy that onto the back of the emblem and see how that holds up. The silicone will work just as well. If you really want it to stick, use that caulk that's called "Lexel". That is pretty sticky stuff when it dries.
Thanks Franklin, great answer.
In the next few days I will decide if I put it that way or I only use a little glue as you say.
But whatever I do, I post it so that it remains as information.
Regards.
