down pipe

Anybody replaced the down pipe on their F 150? They look pretty pricey - $700 to $1200.

Wondering if there is all that much gain in HP & torque.

Unless you are changing the downpipe as part of extensive performance mods (bigger turbos, injectors, etc...) I can't see it alone adding power.

Money would be better spent getting a tune from a reputable shop.

Modern downpipes are not as restrictive as say, the OBS powerstroke diesel downpipe (pancake) was:

Crazy right? Mine met the sawzall blade not long after purchase... I do miss that truck.
