2020 SD Height Need Help ...
Currently a f-150 3.5 EB guy but looking to move to a SD. Primary purpose for truck is towing a 28ft 7k travel trailer. The. f-150 Does a good job of it for the most part, but at times, you can feel the trailer destabilize the truck. There is a also the payload limitation issue.
Not wanting a diesel, the new 7.3 is very appealing as I do not want to give away pulling power as I change. My main hesitation however is getting a truck that will fit in the garage. (HOA thing)
It was rumored that the 2020 SD models were going to be less tall then previous, but as I review the new spec sheets, that doesn't seem to be the case. My garage opening is 81.75" high and the basic 250 Screw 4x4 is 81.5.
My question for those that are in the know, is what options add height to the basic truck?
I would typically add the Lariat Ultimate, fx4 package, towing ( pro trailer) A/T tires. Was thinking about the camper pkg to get the heavier springs and sway bar. I did see the A/T tires added an inch in hgt from the tire aspect increase. Not sure if the fx4 or camper pkg adds hgt .
Can anyone with knowledge about this help please.

Bigger tires, heavier suspension pkgs, cab clearance lights are about it that would height to the truck. Cannot say as to how much each of those would. Lariat pkg.may add 20 inch wheels with bigger tires than the 18s. Save your money and just put the skid plates on the truck and forget the fx4 pkg IMHO. The fx4 shocks are not worth it from what I heard. Only way to really get an answer is drive one to the house that is equipped how you like and see how it fits. Patience my friend. I would think a 2019 would be very similar though. If the tire is an inch taller overall you will only gain 1/2" total in height.

My garage opening is 84.5 inches and while my F350 4x4 fits with a couple inches to spare you are cutting it way too close on your opening imo. You have 1/4 inch of clearance and that's assuming your garage door opening measures the same all the way across. It could easily have a low spot eating up that 1/4 inch. I have the clearance lights, a non issue the high spot is the top/rear of the cab.

Yeah skip the camper package as the higher rated springs sit higher. I believe the stated height wouldn't include these raised springs as they intend you to weight down the truck if you order it that way. But they probably do quote it with the 20s (34.1” tall) vs the 18s with A/Ts (33.2” tall); and the 18s with street tires are even shorter.
You can either test drive or order and hope for the best.
I would get the lariat and the base tires (not AT) if you must order now. Otherwise a simple test drive would verify your question. Judging off your math you will try to end up in a Lariat 4x4 with 275/70/17 AT tires and have around 1/2-3/4 inch clearance as long as your door doesn't hang down.
