Getting my order ready for a F250 regular cab XL and would like some advice on what if any packages would help with getting a higher stance on the truck.
Not planning on lifting it but I do want the truck to stand as tall as possible!
Does the FX4 or Snow Plow or the Snow Plow/ Camper package give you a higher stance?
The FX4 package absolutely does NOT increase height. Snowplow package puts the stiffest coil springs possible on the front of the truck to reduce sag with the weight of the plow. Camper package on the F-250 adds an overload spring to the rear leafs, as well as a rear anti-sway bar. On the last generation, it seemed the snowplow pack might have put the nose of the truck up ever so slightly. We are talking a half-inch or less.
No suspension package increases actual ground clearance. Only taller tires increase actual ground clearance. Unfortunately for you, the XL trucks come with the smallest tires...I believe they are 31.5" tall. The tallest tires are on the 20" rim option...they are slightly more than 34" tall. So two identical F-250's...one with the 17" XL tires and the other with 20" Lariat tires will be quite a bit taller.
The 2017 trucks all sit pretty high, seemingly higher than the previous generation. I think you'll be pretty happy with the ride height.
There's another "OEM more height option": Order an F250 SRW XL 4x4 with the STX appearance package (option code 17S); this comes with 18" wheels and LT275/65R18 A/S tires. An "option within this option" is the larger LT275/70R18 A/T tire [BSW (OC TDX) or OWL (OC TDU)].
These aren't quite as big as the 20" tires and wheels, but they're close.
