Why cant you get the 3:73 rear end with the new 7.3 motor?

The 3.73 EL appears to be standard on the F350 SRW 7.3.

The bigger question I have, is the F350 7.3 going to have the Dana or Sterling rear axel?

F250 options may be different for gear choices. Web and doc I have looked have discrepancies between them.

I would guess Sterling. The Sterling is taking way more power in the current 6.7 F250.

I too would like to know this. Not sure I want to get a 350 9900 for capacity I cant leagally use but the Dana would be tempting. And between 3.55 and 4.30 the 3.73 would be a nice middle ground.

I would rather have the Ford/Sterling rear axle than the Dana. There is way more aftermarket support for the Ford axle, the new Dana that they use in the SRW trucks has hardly any aftermarket and the parts that are available are very expensive.
