Please Help. My truck lost the serpentine belt because the alternator froze up. Both were replaced then the truck would not start and gas gauge did not work. Put a battery charger on it for the night and when I came out two relays were rapidly clicking. I took off the charger and the relay under the hood stopped but the one inside was still going off and the interior light was going on and off (#2 Relay 5A Powertrain Control Module (PCM), Cluster) if you put the clutch pedal to the floor it stops. Pulled out relay and took the battery termanals off hoping it would help but it didn't. I don't have a clue!
What motor do you have?
Take a good close look at what the belt could have damaged for wiring.
We have no worthwhile clue until more info is attained except harness damage of some sort.
Good luck..
The belt has to have done damage somewhere in the path the pieces took.
Take a new look at the alternator replacement for pinched/broken wire.
The other effects you describe ae far removed from an alternator or belt replacement unless the issue was caused afterward.
I think you have PATS in a 2001. Take a look at the Theft light and see what it does. Blinks, flashes a code after a couple minutes etc.
Otherwise I have no clue either. It would all be guessing.
Good luck.

replace the alternator field fuse in the engine bay (I forgot what number it was) and try to jump off your truck. If the truck turns on, awesome. Rev the rpms to around 1500 maybe a little higher to see if it blows the fuse and the battery light comes on. If it does then your voltage regulator is bad or the harness to the alternator is bad. That’s what I did when I had those problems. 2 months of trouble shooting.
