Hello, I bought an 04 Ranger, supercab, 4door, edge, with the 3.0l off of a surplus sale at a local university. I slapped a fuel pump in it and it runs great. They had a custom bed on it and removed it before selling the truck. I was able to pick up a style side for cheap and am now in the process of putting it back together. Here is my problem, due to the custom bed they have hacked the rear wiring a bit and I'm not sure what needs to go where. I've included some pictures of what I'm dealing with. If you can identify some of it, it would be appreciated. I believe the bare wires on the left are the turn/brake/plate lights, but the harness next to the trailer 4 way and the two black wires with red connectors I have no idea. Any thoughts on what goes where and the best way to "put it back together" would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
I see you don't have any replies yet so I'll see if I can get things started. You might go here, http://www.bbbind.com/tsb-wiring-diagrams-database/ click on wiring diagrams & look up the wiring color codes for the rear lights on your year vehicle & see if that'll work. Some beginning thoughts for consideration.
congrats on the deal. Honestly i wouldnt mess with sorting out all their crap. Who knows how much is missing and what they did. I would find a junkyard truck and have it donate its wiring harness for all that stuff thats been butchered.
