My 97 f250 hd got t-boned it has 5.8 gas 5 speed 4x4 I put a 94 f150 cab on it which had the 4.9 5 speed 4x4 The cab to chassis plug ins are the same but when plugged in things are a little funky. Now I have not hooked all the grounds up but didn't want to if I have to rip the dash off to change the harness. I am using the computer from the f250. My question is do I need to change the dash harness or are the pin outs the same? The only difference I saw between the two is that the 94 had a steering wheel airbag and sensors on the rad support. and the 97 did not. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you!
Did the 94 have a electronic speedometer or did it have a cable? I would also look at the GEM module. If it's different, I don't think it's going to work.
Both trucks had electric Speedos.
I saved all the pieces and parts from the original cab. Is the gem module the one behind the glove box? If so do you think if I switch them out that it would work?
If the GEM module is different, I doubt it will plug in the harness.
From what I was reading this truck does not have the gem module. The 97 HD truck is the same cab as the 92-96 trucks. This weekend when it's above freezing I plan on just removing the dash and swapping the harness and everything. It shouldn't take to long I hope.
