To answer the previous question to me, the 27 degrees was what my oil temp gauge read, i dont remember what the outside temp was at the time. I’m really hoping with the new cables it fires off easily, should with the high torque starter being fed by 3/0 cables with T6 oil in it. If it doesnt I’m at a loss of what to do next. I’ll definitely put in several more grounds and ensure all my connections are clean and tight. Damn truck, as soon as I spend money on something, something else or even something related pops up needing fixed.

I changed my battery cables a few years ago when I found the big one going down to the starter was impregnated with corrosion clear back into the insulated area. Can't really see it either unless you strip it back.
No, I am an electrician. I assumed you were also because it's usually only electricians that use the word "bonding" when talking about electrical systems
It was me. Started as apprentice Oct. 2nd 1995. This year I've only been doing it half my life.
When i relocated my batteries i had some 2/0 brand new cable but had access to some used 3/0. Thought it looked good so i used it, now I’m regretting doing so but i have some new 3/0 to replace it with. I’m hoping the main issue is the lug connected to the starter, it felt funny when I bent it so it would bolt up and it never really felt like i got the nut tight like it should be. Ill have it all apart tomorrow morning and should be golden after.
While I’m at it, has anyone changed out the wire/cable going to the starter relay with new individual parts? There is a little green on the blade, for lack of a better word, where it bolts up to the relay and i know for sure there is corrosion in the exciter wire for the starter. Will replacing both of these parts help as well?
Thats good to hear you got it figured out. I recabled my battery system and load tested the batteries while i had the box dropped. Batteries are still good, the cable end on the starter had maybe 25% of the material still there. It must of broke when i flattened it for the new starter. Seemed to start a bit better, or atleast hold the voltage but wont know till it gets cold again and I finish changing out all of the cables and wires connected to the starter and solenoid. But for now its got brand new 3/0 power line and ground, just have to change my jumper from starter to solenoid and the trigger wire.
