Anyone find a good battery pack to keep in the truck for an emergency jump start? I didn't find anything in the owners manual recommending a particular specification to look for, and wasn't able to find any great info with my online searches. With cold weather on the way in New Mexico, and road trips planned to Colorado, I want to make sure I've got something as a safety net with me this winter.
Good info, thanks all! More than I wanted to spend, but I definitely don't want to be cheap on something that could screw up the truck or leave me screwed on the side of the road!

The first time it saves your bacon, you'll forget how much it cost. I waited years to buy one of these because I wanted one that fit inside a console or under a seat and plugged into a 12v source in the vehicle without having to add a special plug/adapter. Everyone in my family got one for Christmas last year. I waited for a deal and pounced on it.
I have yet to use my GB150 myself. I was headed to my trailer in the storage lot when I was flagged down by a guy. The onboard batteries in his trailer were dead. He couldn't unhitch from his truck because the landing gear needed power. The generator wouldn't start because of no power. He asked if I had jumper cables. Instead, I handed him my GB150 and told him to bring it to me when he was done. He couldn't say enough good things about it and planned to get one for himself.
Another vote for the NOCO GB150. Even comes in handy for charging cell phones, iPads, Tablets, etc. I picked one up off Amazon when the price dropped to $200 shipped. Have the smaller GB40 in each of the cars.
The other nice thing about the gb150 (actually all the noco’s - i have two of the 75’s or 40’s in passenger cars) is that you can do multiple jumps starts on one charge vs the older style ones that could barely make it through one jump start.
they also hold the charge when not in use. About every six months of no use, i plug it in to make sure it’s fully charged and it’s usually still close to 100%. The older styles to me were useless because they couldn’t hold a charge for very long and were drained down when they were needed
I have one of the Schumacher battery packs. It is very handy. However I have not needed to jump start my new 2019 F-350. I wonder if the battery pack will start the 6.7 diesel?
When I go out of town for work, I always carry a 2,000 watt generator that has a built in battery charger and has cables with battery clips. I have used it for many jobs and expect if needed it would charge the batteries. Another benefit is that the generator can be used to power the engine heater.
These tiny power packs are interesting. Will they really hold power for months? Enough power to start the 6.7 diesel? I read the other post and the gb150 sounds very impressive. I work alone and take my own tractors and other equipment to remote job sites and occasionally rent skid steer loaders and compact excavators so having a power pack is important because most of the time there would be no jump from a truck. I will definitely check out the gb150.
On the other thread, a guy said he uses a gb150 to start a skid steer. Do you think it f necessary it would start a Caterpiller 100hp skid steer? That is what I usually rent along with a forestry mulcher.
When using my side by side in remote areas I always carry extra fuel and the Schumacher battery pack referenced above.

Have started a 9L CAT with a GB150. PowerStroke would be easy.
