I cook my steak the ONLY way there is to cook steak: plain and on a charchoal BBQ. I'm finding the way to do it is to let it sit out for like 30 minutes and let it start to decompose then throw 'em on the grill. Sometimes I'll throw a little seasoning on, but usually I would rather find myself a really good steak then try to "fix it up" with sauce or seansonings. Better to let the meat speak for itself.

Man I'm hungry, those are some great cooking tips. Of course the wife likes her burnt, I like mine raw and wiggling. I started using Dales marinade seasoning, It has been great so far. After I cook the steaks I put them on a tray or plate that has olive oil in it and it really seals in those juices especially the rare ones. I let them sit for a few minutes then we dive right, Thats my way.

Doing a good job is like wetting your pants in a dark suit. You get a warm feeling but nobody notices.

I love to grille and cook. Here's how I do it.

I take some crushed garlic, crushed onion, salt pepper, worsteshire sauce, and a secret sauce from Milwaukee and I whisk all that up and then pour it over the steaks and let them sit 24 hours. I then grille them up on the grille or in the broiler until they are medium well and serve with my famous baked potatoes, corn on the cob, and a salad.

Makes me hungry!

Turn on the gas grill, turn it on high and let it heat up for 10 to 15 minutes. Sometimes longer if I run back inside and get caught up on FTE.

Slap the steaks on and close the lid. Wait 3 or minutes depending on size of steak. (sometimes longer - see FTE note above) Keep the heat on High.

Turn em over for another 3 - 4 minutes, salt and eat. Steak of choice is 16-20 oz porterhouse and I always get rave reviews.

Go back to FTE site.

A couple of days later fill the gas tank cause I forgot to turn the gas off.

...Nope...not ...me...Ive never ever ever done that...
Ok ok Ive done it 3 times...
Your routine sounds the same as mine...'cept I use the cheap steaks...cause Im broke....

Depends on what type of steak, but I like most meats done medium well. Rib steaks and Prime Rib can be medium. I seldom buy tougher cuts of meat because I hate chewing myself into exhaustion.

I seldom cook steaks inside except during the winter months and thats only if it's just too darned cold to stand out near the grill. During the summer its grill only and cook it until wife's chicken is done, then chow down!

I season meat only on occaission, except chicken, before grilling. Once in a great while I will marinade. If I use BBQ sauce, I use it nearing the completion of the cooking...last 5-10 minutes, depending on the heat of the grill.

Dang...now I'm drooling for a nice rib steak and I'm at work.
