That reminds me. I have an older flatbed that I need to pull out and sell. I started to fix it up and had the opportunity for my son to build one for me.
I figured one built by my son would have much more meaning to my truck.
I think we’ve got this covered if two retired guys can slide this on to Art’s trailer. A bunch of years ago I got this and the 3/4 ton bed it’s sitting on from Josh Madsen. I hauled them and the 12’ bed that Mark (thundersnow70) got from Josh. I can use the 3/4 ton bed on my second project truck but have no need for this one. So Art might as well have it if we can get it loaded. Art lives only a few hours east of me so it’ll have a good new home. Stu
Nice flatbeds everyone.... I like the look of the flatbed. Had a talk with my neighbor a while ago and talked about putting his extra cab on a 4x4 frame with a flatbed, his wife liked the idea!
I wasn't sure how much I would like the flatbed. I went with one because that's what my wife's grandpa had on it.
Well, I love it. It is so versatile. As I fantasize about a Truckstock trip, I think it would be cool to have an army style canvas cover.
Shoot, I could save hotel money on the trip by putting a tent on it and stay the night on the bed.

Joe, that's what I did this spring at Ford Carlisle. I sell parts at the swap meet. Last year I stayed at a flea bag hotel. It smelled of smoke. I checked in, got a shower, and went out to eat. When I returned, I put on the clothes I was going to wear the next day and slept on top of the covers for fear of getting bed bugs!
So this year instead of paying $125 for a cheap hotel I brought along some foam rubber and a sleeping bag. I backed my truck under my pop up tent and slept on my truck bed. Lots of vendors spend the night at their spot. Also, I didn't have to fight traffic getting to the show the next morning.
So, Joe, that sounds like a good plan for your first Truckstock. But don't forget to bring a pillow like I did! This year Jim slept in the back of his panel truck.
