I'm not looking to sell my truck, but I'm curious about it's estimated value.
When I originally bought the truck I had to get a personal loan because the bank didn't value the truck at what it was priced at and required a 3rd party estimate to change the evaluation. I'm guessing they used KBB or similar based on the price they said it was worth. Since these older trucks are usually worth more than what KBB says is there another site that is reliable or is it all just based on a nebulous third party pricing system.
If it helps any I have a 1994 f-350 7.6 in near mint condition with 170k miles on it.
Your geographical location and demand dictate pricing to a degree. Of course condition plays a big part in value. If you have a 7.3 diesel or a 7.5 gas truck the mileage is reasonable on your truck. I would check Craigslist and other local sources for what folks are asking for similar trucks and mileage. You don't mention body style and that can have a play on value to certain areas also as would 2WD or 4WD. Any pictures or estimates from us are subjective to where you are or where you would offer it for sale. Sandy
Just check the ads in CL in your area and you will at least see what people are asking. If you look at them regularly, you can sort of tell if they are getting that based on how long the ad is up.
Hagerty, NADA and Hemmings give classic values. Again, these are general guidelines. If you are considering Insurance, then Hagerty will insure it for about any amount, if you are willing to pay the price. Sandy
I don't think you will find a bank that will assign any collateral value to a vehicle more than a few years old. Book value is pretty much meaningless. Real value is what somebody will give you in cash for your vehicle. That can vary a lot.
