Reason: To add what I missed to say to clean up post
The guys at "the place" clearly don't know what they are talking about because the 351/5.8 definitely was offered in these vans.. and it wasn't any different than the one installed in pickup trucks.

That's what i was thinking about the truck being same.
Oil Pan / engine mounts are different and I think the exhaust manifolds are as well ....you will also need a different Dipstick for the transmission as well as the engine
While the basic engine is the same, due to the Econolines compact engine compartment, some parts are Econoline only.
Engine/trans mounts, 1975/76 E100 right exhaust manifold, oil pan & pickup tube (depends on the year), engine oil dipstick & tube, transmission dipstick & tube, misc air cleaner parts, P/S & A/C brackets and etc.
Since the OP failed to mention the year, this is about as specific as I can get.
Please, when asking questions, list all the pertinent info, we are not mind readers.
Edit: OP has typed two additional identical threads on this same topic, it's a 1993.
So now there's this thread, two more identical threads asking similar questions. Why???
Missing information. What is the original engine that came with the van? What place said they don't carry one? Once we have that info more detailed info can be given.

Reason: Do add more details
Yes, you can't just stuff a high performance crate motor in one of these trucks the factory fuel and EFI system can't handle it so those parts must be upgraded too and that will add significant $$ and complexity to the project.

Mounts might be different but the oilpan's the same for both. As are the exhaust manifolds.
