Stupid Question

Hi,
I have a 1993 F150 4.9, I hate to say it, But I can not find the engine temp sending unit! The manual shows it to be somewhere on the passenger side , mid engine. I can see all the injector wires and the sensor in the intake manifold which I assume is the air charge sensor. I can not see anything else that looks like it could be a temp sensor. I thought that maybe it used the coolant temp sensor for the engine temp, but when I disconnect it, the engine temp gage still works. I feel stupid asking, but where is my engine temp sensor?

Stupid Question

Youre looking for the sending unit that controls the temp gauge , Correct ? If so , Its mounted on the right side , very back of the block & it will have a single wire connector .
