transmission issues

hey I have a 93 f150 5.0 automatic transmission..it has plenty of power in reverse..so reverse works great..but in any forward gear I feel it engage but it barely moves no matter how much throttle I give..it does move forward but very slowly..like turtle speed. does anyone know what may be wrong?

Which transmission do you have. There is a code on your inner door area for it or if you count pan bolts. The E4OD has 20.

Does it matter if it is in drive or in low (1st) gear? Does it behave the same way?

No it doesn't matter what forward gear I put it in..it engages,and barely pulls..it doesn't slip..and fluid looks and smells fine
