Need Advice
1st - what is it and what is it for?
2nd - what is a good make/mfg to look for?
3rd - is it like a pressure washer where different sizes are better?
4th - what is the going price for one of these things?
5th - is it best to get one locally (and where would I look)
or online?
6th - don't know what else I should be asking since I don't
know what it is!!!!!
Thanks in advance for your info & knowledge.

Plasma cutters are VERY expensive($2000 plus) However the are very nice to have since you restore the old iron. You can buy crappy ones from some local stores but summit and harbor freight has some nice ones. Sure wish my wife was interested in getting me cool tools.

Carlene, (God love ya), if you get your Husband a plasma cutter for his birthday you will:
A. Become an object of envy for every red blooded American man
B. P*@%# off thousands of other wives all over the world
C. Probably crush the cookie jar budget for the remainder of this decade
If you insist on continuing with this quest, take a look here:

I hope it helps a little; your husband is a lucky man. Don

Do you own one of these Plaz 50's? The 50 or the 65 seem to be more like what he would be interested in. He's always fabricating something either for our projects/hobbies, friends or my dad & his friends.
What would be a comparable model in a Miller or Lincoln (as mentioned above)?
Dennis - that table thing is way out of my league, plus it sounds like it's just something you hook up a plasma cutter to????? I'm sure if he gets the right cutter, he can build himself whatever accessories he finds a need for.
Thanks to all you guys for your imput. Would like to hear more as to your own personal preference as to make/model/size. More towards the personal shop use - not commercial use.
I already knew this would be a major purchase that's why I'm trying to find out about this stuff & cost now. Not to worry though, I usually get what I want too, just takes longer.

I do not, that would be just one more thing to fixate on and I have too many "projects" as it is.
I was referred to this a "hobby type" device by my neighbor who has a auto repair business and a scary
array of welding/cutting type stuff.Good luck, Don
