1989 Bronco Brake Problems

I have a 89 Full Size Bronco utility/eddie bauer edition. I've replaced everything on the rear drum brakes (cylinders, shoes, springs, em-cables ect) I've replaced the hydraulic brake control module in the frame. I've replaced the master cylinder. I've replaced the rubber brake transition hose that goes from the rear diff up to the brake line in the frame. I have a new electronic brake control module installed. the front has new pads. the calipers bleed good and seem to be in working order. the rotors are in good shape. the rear brakes are locking up and skidding when the brakes are applied and the rear anti-lock light on the dash is on. oh! the sensor on the diff was bad, I replaced it. (it olmed out good) there wasn't any metal on the sensor but it was scared a little. I've inspected the rear diff and bearings no problems there. i put it in a reputable shop and they are killing me, charging waaay to much for looking at it. HELP!! oh! there are no error codes when I test the ebcm.

Stop guessing why the yellow ABS light is on. Pull the RABS Flashout Codes

discovered why the rear anti lock light was on. there was a short in the wiring that goes to the sensor on the rear diff. abs light solved. the rear brakes still lock up when the brakes are applied under normal braking or hard braking. got it out of the shop. I'm going to go over every detail again. ??

When did this issue start? Before or after replacing parts?

found the problem, I need a new rearend. the rear sensor is chewed and the gear oil has loads and loads of metal chunks in it. so, does anyone know where I can get a dana 44 8.8 rear end with 3.55 diff w/rear anti lock for a 1989 ford bronco full size?? reasonable,,, I really don't want to rebuild it.

The rear axle is not a D44, it's simply a Ford 8.8" rear axle. Any F150/Bronco from ~1987 to 1996 will work. They all used a sensor in the rear axle. Up to 1991 the sensor was used only for the rear anti-lock brake system. Starting in 1992 Ford used the same signal for the RABS system, then used a PSOM to feed vehicle speed data for the computer (PCM) and Speed Control. Not sure if the yoke design changed like the F250/350 did in that time period. Not a deal breaker but does add extra hoops to jumper through to get the driveshaft to attach.

A few folks have used this to find parts: Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market
