back firing.
about 2-3months ago, all my spark plugs went bad, causing my cat to go bad, got the plugs and wires replaced, and new cat.
about 2 weeks ago it began to back fire, not bad, just small ones when i reved it between 2-3k rpms. why would it do this, bad plugs again? someone shed some light my way please.
thanks.
Hi aaronsxs;
Welcome to the FTE Family! Off the top of my head i'd say to check the timing by distributor or for EFI's the TP sensor which assists in regulating the timing! Your IAC valve may also need cleaning!COME - BACK!

After I spent a crapload of time on it, I later found a large crack in my catalytic converter. Since my computer wasn't giving or storing codes, I researched about cracked cats and found out it can be caused by a malfunctioning O2 sensor. I changed it and the truck ran like new....no backfires...more power....huge gas mileage increases too. All that for $40.99!
yeah, the timing may be a problem, your the 3rd person to tell me something about the timing, so in any case ill have to take it in, that would be a little out of my expertize. i mainly deal with fabricating interior custom jobs, but i know enough under the hood to know when somethings not right.
thanks all.
