Daytime Run Lights
Here is the deal, the front of my truck is completely black so I bought black AVS headlight covers to complement the look. They look great when the truck is turned off or when the park brake is on, but my daytimes shine right through them making them almost transparent. I know I can paint the headlight covers but I want to be able to keep them on at night to keep them from wearing. Enough light shines through the covers on low beam for comfortable city driving.
Anyone have any suggestions??
There is a control module for your DRL located underneath the driver's side front bumper rail. (Take a look here for picture and diagram showing a DRL control module - it is unconnected on my Ranger in the picture)
As I understand it, one of the wires from the DRL control module carries a "pulsed voltage" to the headlamps which illuminates the high beams, but with a reduced light output, for daytime driving.
I've never heard of anyone doing it before, but my suggestion would be to try and identify which wire carries that pulsed voltage, and then disconnect it.
Hey gamma... what part of the rock are you from? Didn't think any newfies were on this site.
