Found a set of takeoffs from a 2019 near me, only asking $850 for wheels and tires with 600 miles on them. I need tires for my truck, and at this price the wheels are basically free. I couldn't find anything quickly on if they'll fit. Can anyone help me out?
From what I have read they will fit if they came off a f250. The 2017 plus wheels are different from 250 to 350. The hubs are different diameters due to the 350 having a heavier rear axle.
Found a few things, they're definitely 8x170 on SRW trucks, but are there any other fitment issues? I ran into the 2005s and down not fitting later trucks due to caliper size. Shouldn't be any issues like that going up should there?
Also cant find anything on the rear axle cap being bigger/smaller.
The seller said I could test one for fitment on the rear if I come look. Now, to convince the wife that $850 cash is a better deal for tires and wheels than paying $1100+ for new tires that we'll need sooner than later.
Below is a great website to look up stock wheel size, offsets, bolt patterns, etc. Wheel-size.com
Ford changed the Super Duty wheels in 2005 and they have had some standard measurements since then.
Specs:
Bolt Pattern: 8x170
Center Bore: 249.9mm
Offset: 40ET
The only thing you will have to "modernize" on your truck is to use the lugnuts from the new wheels. If you use the old lugnuts on the new wheels, the center caps will not properly clip on secure.
The wheels and tires on my '16 F250 are takeoffs from a '18 F350.

What did they change about the lugs? I assume it would be fine to run them without the center caps if need be? Wonder what a set of lugs would set me back lol

Hard to explain but I will try:
The lugs are the same size thread pitch and socket size. The flange where the lugnut meets the wheel has a bit of a lip on it to retain the center cap clips. The old '16 & down lug nuts had a lip that was shorter in height (think of the lug nut sitting flat on a table with the socket side up). The '17 and newer had a flange or a lip that was taller. With the center caps needing a taller flange on the '17+ wheels, the older '16 lug nuts did not allow for a snug fit (they could be removed by hand). Using the newer lugnuts with the new wheels, the center caps held on tight and needed to be pried off.
A picture's worth a thousand words!
The flange circled in red is shorter in height on the '16 down. The '17 and newer are thicker and allow the clips on the newer center caps to hold stronger.
