Excursion starting issue
I have a 2000 Excursion that is having starting issues. I have installed new batteries, new starter, new ignition switch, new ignition relays under hood and dash, and tonight a new ignition lock. I know the new key lock needs programmed but you can avoid it by recoding the lock so can use your old key and I did that. I did try to start it with both key locks old and new before recoding the new one. I’m not sure where to go from here.

since everything is new, maybe check that all of the wiring is connected properly and the connections are tight. maybe a wire got crimped or broken too. it’s possible that one of the new components is bad out of the box

Does it click when trying to start it?
Try jumping the starter solonoid?
If it does not crank after jumping solonoid look to starter, solonoid and it's wiring.
A bad key chip will crank but won't start.
If while trying to start the lights dim alot your motor could be locked up or your battery cables are poor.
20 yr old battery cables will have poor connections. Make sure both batteries and all positive and negative cables are good and have good connections.
Ideally post a photo of battery connections for both batteries

Completely dead when I turn the key. Going to start checking all wire connections
