Transmission issues - 4R44E
Hello.
Have a 1999 Ranger...3.0 engine and 4R44E transmission....150,000 miles. Trans rebuilt around 100,000 miles after I lost reverse.
Just starting having a flaring issue on the 2-3 shift.
Based on research appeared to be a pretty common issue that could be resolved by a valve body replacement.
Got a complete Sonnax valve body and installed. Shifts all good and solid......but seems I've lost a gear.
1-2 shift is good...but with OD off, that's it....no more gears. If I turn OD on, then it up-shifts....but still more RPM than
it should be.
No codes...no blinking OD light...no other issues.
Any ideas?

Use, borrow, or come by the inexpensive ELM scan tool & run FORScan diagnostic freeware on the viewing device of your choice as it's tweaked for Fords, as discussed here, https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...-scantool.html
This powerful combo can query All of the vehicle computer / controllers for trouble code clues. or faulty or border line PID's, so can often help focus a trouble shoot. Post All code Numbers..
