transmission leak

1999 f 250 superduty 4x4 is leaking trans fluid from between the transmission rear and the front of the transfer case. So it appears to be!?!?!?!?!? I parked in in my inclined drive way nose first and when I pulled out there was a 4 in wide 6 foot long trans fluid red murder scene site on my driveway !!! Yikes best cover it up before it draws any attention to neighbors.. Help!>!>!>!??!?!?!

You'll have to clean off all of the dirt and fluid, then watch closely to see where the leak starts. Until you know that there isn't much to do.

Without pictures or some other information, I'd guess it is the output shaft seal gone bad.

This was going to be my guess based on location you describe IF it is truly from here but good advice from alloro... I had a trans line leaking that flowed back making it look like the output seal/gasket. A lot cheaper and easier repair being the line over the output shaft.
