External Transmission Filter

Love my new Dieselsite filter, Here's where I mounted it, if anyone decides they want to install one, it's super easy if you remove the transmission first

I have mine installed horizontal. Guess why?.... and yes, I called diesel site and the filter design (anti-drain back) does allow that. I did have to cut the phenolic heat shield for access.

I give up, tell me. The thought crossed my mind. Maybe to prevent transmission fluid from getting on your fingers when you remove the filter?

I go off road on occasion, filter hangs below the frame.... and yes removing is less of a mess. However 2 years in still in the green.

It’s going to be a long time before these filters get restricted. The transmission fluid stays pretty clean compared to other fluids. I also swapped the shift solenoids for upgraded Midwest Transmission high pressure solenoids that make more crisp shifting and lessen the chance of slippage. Also swapped to a PML aluminum pan and 2008 filter while I was at it. Did you guys pull the toilet paper tranny filter out and leave it out or just change it?

Mine is out at the moment, left the magnet, but I'm open to suggestions of putting a new filter in if it helps in any way.

Needs a few more mounting bolts! Haha
Nice work, looks like you welded some stainless plate for the bracket?

Cheap steel from Ace. Welded, primed and painted.

Very nice view squirrel! I see why you need it so high. I may move mine up too, it hangs a bit.
What brand and model is that swing away tire carrier?
