Please Help Bronco DOWN!?!?!?

Hello I'm Bronco Dove and have had a project and need guidance.

I have a 1988 ford bronco, 4 wheel drive, 5.8 windsor, C6 transmission beast. I have regretfully pulled out the motor because of abuse and threw away heads not knowing what I know and hear now about them. Yes I scolded myself.

My friends is giving me a 94 ford truck 5.0 and says it bolt right up but how do I run my tranny with that motor. What mess did I get myself into and is there a light at the end of the tunnel or easier ways to get old beauty on the road.

And what cab do I have on frame the guy I bought it from had 2 and one was sound running and moving and the other was bad cab and put them together in a killer combo. I love my truck and just want to be happy with it rolling down the road.

I think I should get another harness that matches and clean up the two he used to make one.

Both the 5.0 and the 5.8 have the same bolt pattern, and the 5.0 should bolt right up to your small block C6. I'm not sure about the interchangeability of the flex plate and torque converter though.

The square wheel openings + the dash are 1980-86 but it looks like a 1987-96 tailgate + rear tail lamps + also maybe the rear bumper.

I don't remember when headrests came about, but I don't see any indication of them on your truck from what I see..

You'd be happier with the 351W; a 302 will bolt up & work (investigate the specifics) but the end truck will be kind of gutless.
