Spark Plugs
Hi all,
I have a 1993 Flareside with a 5.0,E4OD(2wd). My question is this: I'm running NGK U-groove plugs in the engine. Are these the best for my truck? The ignition is stock except for a computer chip(performance module). I know this question has probably come up before, so if anyone has some info where an answer is, please let me know.BTW the plugs are due for replacement(50,000) miles. Total mileage is 68,000 miles. Thanks for any help. This site Is by far better than watching c###yand d####s rust away. Steve.

Personally I find, (and so have lots of others here as well) that Ford motors like Autolite and Motorcraft plugs better than anything else. I have tried most of the ones out there, and have found that my engine runs better with Motorcraft plugs. I have mine gapped to around .046 mainly because of the msd coil, and I am wanting to add an msd box soon as well.
I've tried Delco's, Campions and a few others, and they all make the truck run like crap. Fuel mileage goes down and performance stinks.
1988 F-150, SWB, 5.0 EFI (formerly 4.9 EFI), M5OD 5 speed, 3.08 gears, Summit shorty truck headers, Custom built Flowmaster exhaust system. Force 4 LP6000 lightbar, Federal signal PA-300 100 watt siren, Icom IC-V100 50 watt mobile radio.

1965 F-100 (just purchased 1/18/01), SWB, 390, C-6 auto. Dual exhaust, Not much else to do to it.
