Finally got the old lady to make the swap from her GMC Yukon XL over to a Ford. I think Im gonna miss that 5.3 V8 more than her but Im not mad about the 3.5 Eco in it.
Only real question is, Is there any weird quirks to these Expeditions? Things to look out for? Its a Desert Gold, Limited w/ either 301A or 302A (wasn't there when she made the order with my dad, all I know is she was all excited about the panoramic sunroof) Side note - the expedition trim setup is kinda weird especially coming from the trucks where the limited is top of the line.
Just picked up a 2019 Exp MAX to replace my 1997 Exp, and the only two things a find annoying is the auto stop at stoplights and rotary gear selector. The latter I can get used to, but you cannot permanently turn off the auto stop. The eco boost v6 has plenty of zip to make this big truck move.
also having trouble pairing my truck door openers. Just 400 miles into it, so will check back again.

We are picking up the wife's new Max this morning. I thought you could disable the auto shutoff? Might have to ask the forscan group if they figured it out.

there’s a button on the dash to temporarily disable it, but it resets at next startup.
There's a device you can buy to disable it. The Fast Lane Car guys on YouTube advertise for the company and for the life of me I can't remember it. But it installs easily. I disabled it on my wife's 18 Jeep Wrangler with another device. She hated that feature. Congrats on the Expy. I wish we needed one because we loved our 2015. The new ones are incredible.
ok so what things have you determined were essential to your expedition??
what items do you wish you would have included or have determined aren't necessary?
Wouldn't get one without the HD tow package, and for this AZ heat the heated and COOLED seats. Mine came with the 2nd row bench but I removed the middle seat so I wish it came with 2nd row captains chairs then they would have armrests. The power fold 3rd row is nice.

just the kinda advice im looking for, thanks!
Were in Texas....and while I love black cars, theyre a pain to keep clean....
Our '17 Plati f350 has the cooled seats, I wish they worked a little better (but they were changing them in 18 or 19).

It needs to go and tow and blow hot and cold, and I always get the long wheelbase. Whether you really need to tow or not, towing add-ons never hurt and often help. These days the Expedition comes from the factory with just about everything anyone needs. The question becomes what does a buyer want.

so now you've gone from needs to wants.
I always buy longer wheel base (trucks) - the ride is almost always better, the increased utility space is better and the LARGER fuel tank is a win for a someone who prefers driving over stopping for fuel, I wish they made the Max w/ a larger (than 28g) tank...but 28g is better than 23g.
Im looking for comfort and capacity (people and dog), I'll go w/ the towing package just because I want the 2 speed transfer case.
I am disappointed in the 2017 6.7L F350 - lots of bump steer (and death wobble), and the mpg is for crap w/ fords horrible DPF/Re-Gen Strategy (every 500 miles, needed or not)...im not towing so the truck doesn't make sense (anymore).
