Good Morning everyone,
I would like your opinion about the 1969-1970 F100 grille, which one you guys like the most?
since I have to decide what to put in my truck, and I always liked the 1970, but now looking at the 1969, I am kinda liking it as well...
Thanks for your time!
Here I attach a picture from google of the grilles showing the differences:
Couple I found online The first 4 are non ranger grilles, the last two have the ranger emblem in the center of the grille. Also note the Light Blue Truck and the Faded Green truck are actually 70-72 hoods and stone guards as they have the larger F O R D on the hood and there is a larger gap around the turn signal on the stone guard.
As a matter of personal preference, I like the '67-'69 styles the most. The turn signals mount differently on the '70-'72 trucks so, you may have to change a couple of pieces, depending on which year/style grille you choose and what year your truck is.

Hood is the same 1967/72 F100/750, the only difference are "add-ons." Hood letters, emblems and the 3 piece hood nose moulding used 1970/72.
Ford replaced the 1967/69 stone deflector with the 1970 (1970/72) stone deflector. 1970/72 fits 1967/69, but 1967/69 will not fit 1970/72.
The hole pattern for the emblems would be different for 67-69 vs 70-72 and that is what I meant by the two trucks having a 70-72 hood. Physically the same in shape 67-72 only difference is the holes.

The hood side emblems w/the yellow reflector lens for 1968/72 F100/350 are the same. 1967 hood side emblems don't have the yellow reflector lens.
When you bought sheet metal from Ford, there were no holes punched out for letters, emblems, mouldings, name plates, because some trucks didn't have them, or if they did, may not have been located in the same place.
Choosing between the 69 and 70, I like the 69. I like the 68, 69, 67 and then 70 in that order. I am not a fan of the 71 and 72 grills though. I dont like the large cut outs.
Grille Shell Stamped Aluminium - 1967-69 Ford Truck
Part #: C9TZ-8200-A9
okey apparently the 69 is a winner (3 vs 0), so back to this one, I have seen that some 69s have the red line in the middle with the black surroundings on the headlights. The question is: If i buy the one from Dennis carpenter ( Grille Shell Stamped Aluminium - 1967-69 Ford Truck , Part #: C9TZ-8200-A) would I have to paint it by myself or is it just an accessory that racks on top?

C9TZ-8200-A is a 1969 Ranger only anodized aluminum grille that has the red line in the center horizontal bar. 1969 Custom Cab anodized aluminum grille is different, doesn't have the red painted line.
1969 Ranger only anodized aluminum headlamp doors are painted black surrounding the seal beams. 1967/68 Ranger, 1967/69 Custom Cab aluminum headlamp doors do not have the black paint.
1967 Standard Cab painted steel and Custom Cab/Ranger anodized aluminum grilles are 1967 only.
1968 Standard Cab painted steel and Custom Cab/Ranger anodized grilles are 1968 only.
There are 3 grilles used in 1969: Standard Cab painted steel, Custom Cab anodized aluminum, Ranger anodized aluminum.
In 1970, Ford replaced the 1969 anodized grille used on Custom Cabs with the 1968 Custom Cab/Ranger version.
1968/69 Standard Cab painted steel grille is the same.
Your truck is not a Custom Cab nor a Ranger. In the US/Canada, it would have been a Standard Cab w/a painted steel grille, painted steel headlamp doors and a painted front bumper.
Custom Cab/Ranger have stainless steel windshield reveal mouldings, your truck doesn't.
It's your truck, so you can do what you wish. Meanwhile, I'm a stickler for originality.
